Filecoin‘s Liftoff Week conference aims to chart a path forward after two days of wild volatility for FIL, as the blockchain-based data storage platform turns now to a weeklong digital conference in the hopes of righting the ship.
It has been reported that billed “Filecoin Liftoff Week,” the event is centered on education, infrastructure, interoperability, and future plans for the project.
However, kicking off on October 19, 2020, the five days of programming feature a different theme each day, such as “Build” and “The Future.”
As counted among the high-profile speakers such as ConsenSys founder Joe Lubin, who will be participating in a fireside chat on “Bridging Filecoin and Ethereum”, and Internet Archive founder Brewster Khale, who will be discussing “the importance of data preservation.” Other speakers include Aave CEO Stani Kulechov, Codefi Head of Product Corbin Page, and Polychain Capital founder Olaf Carlson-Wee.
Likewise, October 20th’s “Mine” day will be a particular highlight for prospective miners, as the programming will be devoted to Filecoin mining talks, workshops, and panel discussions.
Filecoin’s mining system offers greater rewards to miners who provide storage space to the network; independent miner Benjamin Hoesjbo will also be providing a tutorial.
According to the report, community members have also been invited to submit their own “events and celebrations” to be added to the official programming.
The event comes as the FIL asset seeks to find a bottom after reaching a $208, October 15 high. It currently trades at $42.52. Despite the plunge, the Filecoin team remains optimistic about the project’s future prospects.
Thus, the announcement blog post stated:
“This is only the beginning for the Filecoin network.”
