New action movie, Money Plane starring Adam Copeland (WWE’s Edge) in his first lead role, Denise Richards, and Kelsey Grammer features cryptocurrency in a plot involving a casino heist, premiering this week.
The trailer was out on July 10, showcasing about a former gambler, who is pushed into stealing from an aircraft that’s “a bulletproof casino in the sky, untouchable by any government agency”.
Kelsey Grammer’s character said that the plane carries “up to a billion on board in crypto and millions in cash.”
Although, it was not identified which coins are essential to the plot, however, the trailer did highlight that the Money Plane has at least:
- $241 million in Bitcoin (BTC)
- $128 million in Ethereum (ETH)
- $70 million in Ripple (XRP)
- $13 million in Litecoin (LTC)
- an undetermined amount of Iota (MIOTA)
Reddit users quickly took over the internet on the new trailer. One such user highlighted that said movies like Money Plane could help create greater visibility for digital assets, but questioned on:

Although, crypto still haven’t achieved mass adoption in 2020, it seems to be the year for tokens on the silver screen.
In June, Stampede Ventures, a production company owned by ex-Warner Bros president Greg Silverman said it would be producing a movie based on the best-selling book Bitcoin Billionaires, the story of Cameron and Tyler Winkelvoss.
