Blockchain Startup Nym Technologies Invites User Testing For Its Mixnet Platform

Nym Technologies, a blockchain startup based in Switzerland invites general public in the user testing of its next phase mixnet platform.

At a time when the world is fighting against mass-surveillance in the name of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, the privacy infrastructure provided by the platform provides a massive relief against protection to such ill activities.

Invited users will be requested to run the mix-nodes on Nym’s testnet.

Mixnet will be formed by a global network of mix-nodes. This will hide patterns and metadata in the internet traffic by mixing the data packets along with those of the other users.

The Swiss startup claims that mixnet has the capability to even defeat the National Security Agency level surveillance.

CEO Harry Halpin adds:

“With Nym, you can communicate freely without your internet traffic revealing your metadata. It’s even more important now given increased surveillance due to the coronavirus. Nym’s mixnet resists a global passive adversary like the NSA that can record all the traffic coming in and out of a network.”

The testnet will be laid out in over three phases throughout 2020. First phase will be the mixnet and the set up of public mix mix-nodes. Second phase will include the addition of validators, this ensures the mixnet is fully decentralized.

The final third phase will be the implementation of rewards for running the mix-nodes as well as mixing packets in ensuring data is secured for the fellow users.

The Nym mixnet will allow any blockchain or application to provide enhanced privacy services to integrate into the network.
