Bitcoin got mentioned in a text message. In the episode ‘Power Broker’, one of the characters received a text message that read: ‘Selby dead. ₿1K BOUNTY for her killers.’ A whopping 1000 BTC, which amounts to $58.8 million USD approximately. The mention followed Bitcoin’s bull market and is quite a well-thought-out reference of the coin in the initial episodes of the very narrative.

A Reddit user Okitraz1986 happened to spot the mention of Bitcoin, and immediately shared in his Reddit’s r/Bitcoin forum with a screenshot on April 3, where he happened to say:
Was watching the most recent episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+. Noticed this text message inside the TV show. Thought it was cool, figured I’d share. Mind you this was a lot cooler like 5 years ago back when i got into the bitcoin space but still nice to see we’re making headway into cultural touchstones.

However, the context is still in a negative connotation. As it’s being used in a dark market. Bitcoin has its fair share of reputation in the dark market. Even though Bitcoin’s price is booming and is getting adopted as the mainstream form of the payment system, acquiring legitimacy as a store of value, playing as an asset for public investment, it has still found difficult to ward off its connection with illicit activities.
