Pace Gallery Partners With Artblocks To Launch New NFT Project

Pace Gallery, the New York-based contemporary gallery, has partnered with Artblocks, to launch a new nonfungible token (NFT) project titled “QWERTY.”

It has been reported that the project has already been launched yesterday (October 10). Not only is this piece part of a collaboration between the two but it also marks the artist Tara Donovan’s first-ever NFT project. This collection will have 500 generative pieces and have a deep connection to the artist’s screen drawings.

However, the theme behind this collection is ‘type’ and the ways that it can help create patterns. The project uses 26 letters and 30 symbols, each designed at a different level of readability.

The description of the collection says:

“Each NFT in this series depicts rhythmic, mesmeric arrangements of a single, repeating letter or symbol represented on computer keyboards.”

The report said that the gallery has announced that the first 56 people to mint one of these NFTs will receive an archival pigment print of their NFT from the artist and Pace Verso. The physical presentation of the NFTs will take place at Frieze London 2022 from October 12 to 16.

Thus, the NFTs will be sold exclusively on Artblocks’ website and a proportion of the proceeds are to be donated to a charity.
