Playboy Set To Jump Into NFT Market On Nifty Gateway

American men’s lifestyle magazine Playboy is set to jump into the NFT market in partnership with Nifty Gateway. Popular for its logo, Playboy is planning to tokenize its archived artworks built up over 67 years. The artworks will come in cartoons, photography, and many. It will also launch original artworks as well.

Playboy will also collaborate with 3D artist Blake Kathryn for a pride-focused set of NFTs that is set to drop in the month of June. Sharing the excitement and enthusiasm with Business Insider, Rachel Webber, Playboy’s chief brand officer said:

We see the digital asset revolution as an enormous business opportunity, we see huge growth potential in integrating tokens into our streetwear business, our live experiences, and events, creating a social token economy with our network of talent.

She further added:

In the first issue of Playboy magazine, there’s this line, ‘Picasso, jazz, Nietzsche, and sex, those are the four ideal conversation topics for any sophisticated person. Right in the core of Playboy’s DNA is appreciation for art and for great artists.

Although Playboy didn’t explicitly mention the details of the NFTs but did state its noble plans to “support emerging and underrepresented artists entering the NFT art community. ” It will drop its first set of NFTs in collaboration with former playboy magazine contributor “Slimesunday”, prominently known as Mike Parisella.
