Standard Chartered Joins Ethereum Enterprise Alliance

Standard Chartered, the international banking group has become the latest member of the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance (EEA), the blockchain standard building organization.

In a Nov. 6, press release Standard Chartered shared that the move will allow in expanding its client offerings across its 60 international markets.

Standard Chartered Is The Latest EEA Banking Member

Group Chief Information Officer, Dr. Michael Gorriz, commented:

“Technology enables us to facilitate trade and investment across our footprint markets, improving client experiences and offering new services”

The Ethereum Enterprise Alliance (EEA) was formed in 2017 as a collaborative effort to offer blockchain services and implementation across the economic sectors.

It has now a member base of over 100 participants ranging from MicrosoftHyperledger and various other international banks such as Santander and Russia’s Sberbank.

 “We are excited to be a part of the EEA and look forward to opportunities where we can collaborate with other leading industry players to deepen blockchain research and application in the banking sector,” Gorriz added.

In recent news, Ethereum confirmed the expected date for the network’s forthcoming Istanbul hard fork.
