Telegram releases codes for TON on its test network portal. Developers can now contribute to examining the full node, validator node, and node explorer.

Telegram’s popularity among blockchain and crypto communities can be a sure shot for a wide usage among its community members.

The release of the TON TestNet is two months ahead of gram currency. Mainnet Launch for Telegram Open Network is expected to release by 31st Oct.

“Source code for a full node that can access TON Testnet, create and validate blocks has been released. Lite client was released several months ago. TON Labs will release Public Beta of its developer tools suite on Monday” Goroshevsky reports CoinDesk.

Mitja Goroshevsky, CTO of TON Labs, says currently 100 nodes are being maintained by Telegram itself on the TON Testnet. His other startups maintain several nodes, headed by investors in Telegram’s token sale raising $1.7 billion in early 2018. It raised one of the biggest initial coin offerings in the crypto industry.

As per TON’s white paper, which was reportedly distributed among investors around January 2018, the platform will be much more scalable compared to Bitcoin and Ethereum, which will allow it to compete with giants Visa and Mastercard in terms of transaction speed. CoinTelegraph Report

Telegram can withhold “proof of stake” with the support of “shardchains”. Blocks will be confirmed by those who stake a considerable amount of tokens.
