Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Security Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) recently convened the first meeting to tackle information security issues.

Open Gov Asia reported that the meeting was attended by:

  • the Deputy Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam Office
  • The representatives of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam
  • Japanese cybersecurity experts.

During the meeting, the two parties agreed that there would be full support for an initiative aimed at raising awareness of information security.

According to a press release by Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) network security is “the most important global problem in the context of digitizing and implementing an e-government that creates a digital economy.”

Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) has been working closely with Japan regarding the ongoing project while sharing their experiences.

Collaboration on IT Development

Vietnam and Japan reportedly collaborated to discuss and develop an IT workforce.

The Prime minister of Vietnam, Nguyễn Xuân Phúc gave encouraged for the support from Japan’s leading universities, IT enterprises and institutes to develop blockchain-related academic programs, cybersecurity and cloud computing.

The Prime minister also asked for assistance from Japan for setting professional standards of IT human resources in the country.
