Alibaba has partnered with Lolli, a Bitcoin rewards shopping app, enabling its shoppers to earn 5% back in Bitcoin.

Shoppers in Alibaba can now get Satoshis (sats), the smallest unit of Bitcoin currency, worth 0.00000001 BTC, when shopping “thousands of items online,” Lolli says.

We're excited to announce that we just partnered with Alibaba on Singles Day (11/11), the biggest shopping day of the year! 🛍 Lolli users can now earn 5% bitcoin back on millions of products. 🎉 Read more on the Alibaba x Lolli partnership here: https://t.co/CGX8ecoUND — Lolli 🍭 (@trylolli) November 11, 2019

Biggest One Day Shopping Event

Last year, in Singles Day, Alibaba’s shoppers spent more than $31 billion.

The announcement was made on Nov. 11 on Singles Day, a shopping holiday in China. It is considered to be the world’s biggest one-day shopping event.

By the time #Double11 ended at midnight on Monday, Alibaba had generated RMB268.4 billion (US$38.4 billion) in gross merchandise volume in just 24 hours, a 26% jump over last year’s numbers. Get our full write-up here: https://t.co/ODZXbj5cG4 — Alibaba Group (@AlibabaGroup) November 11, 2019

Alex Adelman, CEO, and co-founder at Lolli stated:

“Our partnership allows our users to earn free bitcoin on millions of products online every day. Arguably the most important piece of this partnership is that it supports our mission of connecting the entire world through commerce.”

Only Available For US Users

The new program will be available only for US shoppers. Apparently, Chinese users cannot participate in the program and the products would be shipped from China to US users.

Aubrey Strobel, Lolli’s head of communications, mentioned about the firm’s plan to expand globally in 2020. The partnership is one of the first steps to connect China and the US through Bitcoin commerce.
