Twitter Users Accuses Nexo Finance of Being Behind Zeus Capital To Short Chainlink

Twitter users accused Nexo Finance, the leading regulated financial institution for digital assets, of being behind Zeus Capital, the firm that wanted to short Chainlink (LINK) after social media users saw Zeus Capital’s source code pointing to its website.

It has been reported that Twitter users found a connection between Zeus Capital, who days ago called Link “crypto’s Wirecard,” and Nexo Finance on the Zeus Capital website. Embedded within the Zeus website source code were several instances of Typeform links connected to Nexo’s website, as Typeform lets users create forms used by Nexo on its own site to let users sign up for their newsletter.

I tried to stay neutral during this whole @NexoFinance being @ZeusCapitalLLP debate, but we may have just found the smoking gun, ontop of all the other evidence found They leaked themselves in the site's typeform source code, screenshots below, I checked it my self$LINK — ChainLinkGod.eth (@ChainLinkGod) July 19, 2020

However, other users questioned if Simeon Rusanov, the Head of Digital Asset Research at Nexo, was involved in shorting LINK attaching images that could point to some involvement. This has been strongly denied by Nexo on its Telegram channel.

THE $LINK SCAM EXPOSED? If this attached image proves to be true, then unfortunately your ploy has backfired and damaged your reputation beyond repair. You should be disgusted and ashamed at the lies and deceit peddled by your poor attempt to FUD @chainlink Please RETWEET — TheLinkMarine ⬡ (@TheLinkMarine1) July 18, 2020

It has been analyzed that Zeus Capital released a report announcing that it will short LINK with a target of 99% gains. The report featured no citations and no working links.

Analysts believed that the report was authored maliciously. Reporters have been attempted to contact Zeus Capital but its phone number in London was disconnected and its Hong Kong office diverted to voicemail.

Nexo Finance accused of being behind Zeus Capital who sought to short Chainlink — Cointelegraph (@Cointelegraph) July 19, 2020

In its Telegram channel, Nexo said the accusations that it’s behind Zeus Capital is “a cheap attempt at Chainlink’s and Nexo’s joint efforts and good work.”

It stated:

“Nexo had nothing to do with this and its author is trying to insinuate such a connection through false flag stuff that Nexo is somehow involved. The most probable explanation is that we are Chainlink’s mosy recent partnership, we have staff who are well versed on the Chainlink subject, and because our OTC desks deals in LINK.”

Thus, the company admitted the Typeform link is indeed theirs but noted the same link has been used by its team for different marketing purposes and can be easily accessed by anyone and copied.
